His first job as a journalist was in the newspaper A Noite, in Rio de Janeiro in 1961, the year he covered for the newspaper, the resignation of President Jânio Quadros and the attempt by the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Leonel Brizola, who formed the Chain of Legality to guarantee the inauguration of the deputy, João Goulart, who would be overthrown in 1964.
