Unlike the films, the show will cast age-appropriate actors-in other words, Percy, Annabeth, and Grover will all be around 12 years old.

There are a lot of details Disney will want to make sure they get right, but one of the biggest will be the Percy Jackson and the Olympians cast. How could I not? This adaptation had been a long time coming, and unlike the ill-fated film adaptations, author Rick Riordan would be heavily involved in the process as an executive producer. When Disney+ first greenlit the show, I decided to get my hopes up. We’re over a month into the filming process for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, set to premiere on Disney+ in 2023, and the cast announcements just keep coming!

The only thing I thought could have been better in this book is the last battle.Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians cast welcomes Clarisse La Rue, Luke Castellan, and Nancy Bobofit to the roster. I love to know more of Apollo’s past, how he sees things, I love the humor and all the adventures present, and the characters that have been appearing are nothing less than glorious! And I absolutely love the writing! I thought I would miss Percy much more than I am.

She is the most unpredictable character ever, but she is an incredible demigod, plus she has a cute sidekick named Peaches, which I found hilarious!Īnd another thing I love about this book is that we see our old favorite characters once again, but not all the time, they just add something to the story and make me feel nostalgic, without taking the spotlight. She is such a cool, weird character! We never know what she will do, or what she is thinking of. I love how he shows that he is not a hero, nor he wishes to be, if so, why should a god need demigods, right?!Īnother character I love is Meg. He is extremely humoristic and narcissistic, which makes sense for a human that was once a god… It’s impossible not to laugh at how he sees the world and how clumsy he is once he is Lester. I think they kinda just had something more other than quest after quest, you know? Although we have the same idea, where one gets a prophecy and goes on a quest it just feels different because it’s unpredictable… Apollo wasn’t supposed to be there, a lot of the characters we knew from the other books are not as available as demigods as they once were and in the end that gives us an idiot that had no idea of what to do, a child that seems to be unaffected by whatever happens and the unpredictable…Īpollo, like I said in my last review, is a hell of a character. This book was amazing! Even better than the first one! I love Rick Riordan’s books but this one is probably my favorite series, after the Heroes of Olympus. Come along for what promises to be a harrowing, hilarious, and haiku-filled ride. Fortunately, what he lacks in godly graces he’s gaining in new friendships-with heroes who will be very familiar to fans of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Heroes of Olympus series.

What is affecting the Oracles, and how can Apollo do anything about them without his powers?Īfter experiencing a series of dangerous-and frankly, humiliating-trials at Camp Half-Blood, Apollo must now leave the relative safety of the demigod training ground and embark on a hair-raising journey across North America. The only way Apollo can reclaim his rightful place on Mount Olympus is by restoring several Oracles that have gone dark. Zeus has punished his son Apollo-god of the sun, music, archery, poetry, and more-by casting him down to earth in the form of a gawky, acne-covered sixteen-year-old mortal named Lester.
